Sage Telecom has been on the market since 1998, when it created its simple, low-priced phone plans as an alternative to the big companies services. Today Sage Telecom is one of big companies; it serves hundreds of thousands of customers. Sage Telecom has customers in 12 states; they use home phone service, business phone service, and internet service, provided by the company. Sage Telecom currently serves such states as Arkansas, Indiana, Ohio, California, Kansas, Oklahoma, Connecticut, Michigan, Texas, Illinois, Missouri, and Wisconsin. In February 2006 the Company announced the deployment of a new product known as eSageLink a high speed dial up internet service available first in and around Muncie, Indiana. In January 2007, Sage announced it had been acquired by hedge fund Silver Point Capital. In July, 2012, Sage was acquired by Telscape Communications.
